It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen a new product come in that you could honestly say is a “game changer” in the appliance industry.
Well GE Profile has just released one, and if you’re in need of a new washing machine this is definitely one you may want to consider.
The new WPRE6150KWT washer from GE offers a tremendous value for someone looking for a large capacity washing machine for a very low price. At $599 and 4.1 cu.ft., it offers the capacity and energy efficiency of a front loader at an unbelievable value. It uses an average of between 16 to 24 gallons of water, which is pretty amazing considering it's a top loading machine of this capacity. This machine also handles king-size items and family-size loads, which means fewer loads per week to save time and money.
Unlike a traditional top loading washer, this new machine uses GE’s HydroWave™ system with their Infusor™ instead of a traditional agitator (see video right). What this does is it uses the oscillating action of the Infusor™ which gently pulls fabric through the water using a 360-degree motion. This moves clothes through the water slowly and gently, delivering thorough, yet completely gentle, cleaning performance.
The stainless steel drum also has significantly fewer holes than a traditional machine, and has ridges to help extract more water from your clothes during the final spin (700RPM, which with this system is equivalent to 1000RPM’s of other machines). The other benefit of fewer holes is that less fabric is pulled through during the final spin, which means that it’s much more gentle on your clothes, and will extend the life of your garments.
So if you’d like a new large capacity front loading machine but you’ve found that they don’t quite seem to fit your budget, this may be the machine you’ve been waiting for. At $300-$400 less than many other front loading washing machines, it offers the same capacity and washing performance of its’ more expensive competitors.
It’s definitely a “game changer”, and with a king size capacity at such a great price, you may find it’s a value too good to pass up.
